DFE-40 files (with soft foam layer) fit crescent base size 40, which is the standard crescent-shaped nail file base. DFE-42 files (thin, without foam) also fit crescent bases in size 42. DFE-51 files fit the short polishing base size 50. ATS and AT adhesive tapes are designed for straight nail file bases (size 20) and come either as a spare roll (ATS) or in a convenient plastic dispensing case (AT). Always check the base size number matches the file size number.

How do I apply and remove adhesive nail files?

Peel the adhesive backing and align the file with the base, pressing firmly from centre to edges to avoid air bubbles. For tapes, cut the desired length from the roll and apply to the straight base. After use, grip the edge of the used file and peel away from the base. If adhesive residue remains, clean the base with a suitable solvent before applying the next file.
