Care & Sterilisation

Sterilisation: Autoclave-safe up to 134°C and compatible with dry-heat sterilisation ovens, meeting all standard salon sterilisation protocols.

Chemical disinfection: Safe for use with professional-grade disinfection solutions. Stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistance against repeated chemical exposure.

Storage: Store in a dry environment. Keep blades closed when not in use. Avoid dropping — precision-sharpened edges are delicate.

Maintenance: Apply a small drop of instrument oil to the joint periodically. When cutting performance reduces, have your nippers professionally resharpened.

FAQs

How do I sterilise Staleks cuticle nippers?

It depends on the series. STALEKS professional cuticle nippers (Expert, Smart, Exclusive and PODO) are autoclave-safe up to 134°C, compatible with dry-heat sterilisation ovens, and can also be disinfected with standard professional chemical solutions. The Classic and Beauty & Care nippers are home lines: disinfect them with a chemical instrument disinfectant only, as they are not rated for autoclave or dry-heat sterilisation.

What blade size should I choose?

For general cuticle work, 7–8 mm blades offer the best balance of precision and coverage. Smaller blades (3–6 mm) are ideal for detailed work or clients with thin, delicate cuticles. Larger blades (9–14 mm) suit faster removal of thicker cuticle growth. The EXPERT 20 at 8 mm is one of the most popular sizes for everyday professional use.

What is the difference between EXPERT, SMART, and CLASSIC?

The EXPERT series uses AISI 420 steel hardened to 48–51 HRC with hand-sharpened blades and precision joints — built for daily professional use. The SMART series offers excellent quality at a lower price point, ideal for newer technicians or as backup tools. The CLASSIC series is an affordable entry point for students and home use.

How long do Staleks nippers last?

With proper care and regular sterilisation, Staleks EXPERT nippers maintain their cutting edge through thousands of uses. Most professionals report 1–3 years of daily use before needing resharpening. The inverted rivet design allows for professional sharpening services to extend the lifespan further.

Are these nippers suitable for pedicure work?

The EXPERT 20 nippers are designed primarily for manicure cuticle work. For pedicure and podology work with thicker skin and nails, consider the STALEKS PODO series which features reinforced joints and thicker blades built for the additional force required.
