Professional cuticle scissors SMART 40 TYPE 3

It depends on the series. STALEKS professional cuticle scissors (Expert and Smart) are autoclave-safe up to 134°C and compatible with dry-heat sterilisation ovens, and can also be disinfected with standard chemical solutions used in professional salons. The Classic and Beauty & Care scissors are home lines: disinfect them with a chemical instrument disinfectant only, as they are not rated for autoclave or dry-heat sterilisation. Always dry instruments thoroughly and apply a drop of instrument oil to the pivot joint before storage.

Cuticle scissors are ideal for trimming thin, delicate cuticle tissue with a controlled, sweeping cut along the nail plate. They offer finer control for detailed work around the proximal nail fold and are preferred by many European-trained technicians. Nippers are better suited for thicker cuticle growth or when you need to snip small, isolated sections. Many professionals keep both in their kit.

Classical curve scissors have a gentle, uniform bend along the entire blade length, following the natural curvature of the cuticle line — ideal for smooth, continuous cuts. Hook-tip scissors feature a patented Staleks innovation where the blade tips curve inward to follow the shape of the lunula. This provides a more complete cut around the cuticle without needing to reposition the tool, and gives excellent visibility of the cutting area.

The EXPERT series uses AISI 420 steel with 48-55 HRC hardness and hand-sharpened blades — the top choice for experienced professionals. The EXCLUSIVE series adds microscope-level sharpening and premium magnolia design. The SMART series offers professional-quality instruments at a more accessible price, ideal for daily salon use. The CLASSIC series provides solid, reliable scissors for home care and everyday use. The UNIQ series features innovative ergonomic designs like the Ballerina and Asymmetric models.

With proper care, regular sterilisation, and periodic oiling of the pivot joint, Staleks cuticle scissors maintain their cutting edge through years of professional use. Most technicians report 1-3 years of daily use before needing resharpening, depending on the series. Keep the blades clean and dry between uses, and store them in a protective case to prevent damage.

Yes. The SMART series is specifically designed to offer professional-grade performance at an accessible price point, making it an excellent choice for nail technicians building their toolkit or students in training programmes. The matte satin finish reduces eye strain during long sessions, and silicone ring inserts (on select models) add comfort while you develop your technique.
